INTERACTIVE PLANNER

See the complete cost picture.

Build a simple planning estimate in one currency. Rates and taxable bases must be confirmed for your transaction.

Illustrative model: duty on goods + freight + insurance; tax on that base plus duty. Real valuation and tax rules can differ. Changing the currency label does not convert amounts.

ILLUSTRATIVE TOTAL

Define the commercial boundary

Build a transparent commercial estimate by separating goods value, international freight, insurance, other charges and assumed tax components. Use one consistent currency and document the basis of each input before comparing sourcing or delivery scenarios. The planner supports commercial discussion; the applicable customs valuation, duty treatment and tax basis must be established separately for the actual transaction. Review the resulting per-unit figure against your intended margin and the expenditure excluded from the model.

Document every assumption

Enter the agreed goods value and the freight and insurance amounts appropriate to the scenario being assessed. Use other non-tax charges for additional expenditure that belongs within your chosen planning boundary, and maintain a separate schedule explaining those components. Distinguish confirmed quotations from estimates so that subsequent changes can be traced to their source. The currency selector changes the presentation label only; convert inputs to a single currency before using the calculator.

Understand the calculation

This illustrative model applies the entered duty percentage to goods value plus freight and insurance. It then applies the entered tax percentage to that base plus the estimated duty, before adding other non-tax charges. The resulting total is divided by the stated unit quantity. These are modelling assumptions, not a determination of the valuation method, duty liability or tax treatment applicable to a shipment. Confirm those matters with the appropriately authorised professional before using an estimate for transaction approval.

Compare scenarios and preserve the decision

Evaluate changes in freight, order quantity and destination expenditure separately so that their effect on the per-unit result is understandable. Record excluded items, potential recoverable taxes and any timing-related cash-flow implications outside the calculator. Preserve the assumptions used for an approved commercial decision and reconcile them with actual expenditure after delivery. This comparison helps identify whether a margin variance arose from sourcing, transport, an incomplete planning boundary or a subsequent operational exception.
