Business for God.
Faith in our purpose.
Care in our work.
The outcome in His hands.
A calling beyond commerce
We place our work before the Lord and ask Him to guide the ambitions we bring to it.
The purpose of EMARAS reaches beyond what we earn or own.
We regard the abilities of our team as gifts entrusted to our care.
Our responsibility is to honour God in the decisions we make and the way we treat people.
We bring experience and knowledge to our work, while recognising how much we still have to learn.
We prepare carefully and pray for the judgement to choose what is right.
We hope the work of our hands can bring something good into the lives of others.
That hope remains our purpose, whatever a particular contract may bring.
The purpose behind the work
An enterprise needs money to continue, but profit alone cannot explain why we do this work.
Our team seeks a purpose that remains when the accounts are closed.
We want to build a business people can trust and a record we can live with in good conscience.
When we make a promise, we remember that someone else may be relying on it for their livelihood.
We owe that person an honest answer, including when the answer is difficult.
We owe our partners fair treatment, including when fairness costs us something.
We ask the Lord for the strength to refuse gains that require us to abandon our principles.
May our growth always serve the purpose that brought us to this work.
Faith in the details
Every contract affects people whose lives extend far beyond the transaction.
Our colleagues deserve respect for who they are, as well as for the work they do.
Our partners should be able to rely on our words and recognise them in our actions.
People who depend on us deserve a team prepared to take responsibility when things go wrong.
Faith belongs in the daily work: keeping an accurate record, giving a truthful explanation and honouring an agreement.
It belongs in the difficult negotiation and in the moment when we must admit a mistake.
We ask for the humility to put our failures right and the patience to help others do the same.
We pray that people will experience kindness and integrity in their dealings with us.
The outcome in His hands
We give the work our full effort, knowing that its outcome is not ours to command.
We can prepare and labour; the season and the harvest remain in God's hands.
We bring Him our plans without insisting that His answer must be the one we expected.
An open door calls for gratitude and care in how we use the opportunity.
A closed door asks us to be patient and to continue with faith.
The size of a contract tells us nothing about the depth of His presence.
In uncertainty, we trust that our worth is not confined to the result of our work.
We do what has been entrusted to us and leave the final outcome to the Lord's wisdom and will.
Our work, our offering
This belief asks more of us in our daily responsibilities.
It asks for diligence when nobody is watching and honesty when an easier answer would benefit us.
It asks us to receive success with humility and face disappointment without surrendering our integrity.
Each day gives us another opportunity to serve with greater care.
As a team, we offer our work in gratitude for what we have received.
We do not want success to make us forget the grace that sustained us through uncertainty.
Our hope is that EMARAS will be remembered for the good it has done and the trust it has honoured.
We bring our hands, our minds and our hearts to the work, and entrust its fulfilment to God.
“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
